Aeroplanes and Cranes – 10 Crane Roof Lift
On Thursday, 19th June 2025, at 7:00 AM, Prestige Cranes successfully completed another multi-crane roof lift in Auckland.
The operation involved lifting a substantial roof structure approximately 80 tonnes in weight and 80 metres in length. Due to the site’s proximity to Auckland Airport and its position under a flight path, crane boom heights were restricted to a maximum of 28 metres, resulting in us having to use 10 cranes to conduct the lift safely.
To ensure the lift complied with all safety and airspace regulations, careful planning was undertaken to calculate the optimal crane placement, ensuring even weight distribution across all lifting points.
The operation was overseen by Prestige Cranes’ experienced team members, Eian Cameron and Jacob Gibson. A thorough safety toolbox meeting and lift plan briefing were conducted prior to the lift, ensuring all involved were aligned on procedures and safety measures.
Once the lift began, the roof was floated, precisely raised into position, and securely bolted onto the structural support columns. The entire process was completed efficiently, with the first crane demobilized and returning to our depot by 10:30 AM.
From detailed planning and lift plan development to seamless on-site coordination, Prestige Cranes delivers safe, reliable, and cost-effective crane hire in Auckland for complex and large-scale projects.
